Get Healthy with CoffeeDid you know that some recent research has found that there is no connection with coffee and increased risk of cancer or heart disease. In fact the opposite could be true as coffee consumption and a decrease in mortality rate.
This change in thinking has come about due to earlier studies not taking into account the study subjects habits including smoking and physical exercise.
The good news is it appears as if some of the health benefits of coffee include some protection against Parkinson's disease, type 2 diabetes and liver disease, including liver cancer. As well as to improve cognitive function and decrease the risk of depression.
On the downside some research indicated that a fairly common genetic mutation that slows the breakdown of caffeine in the body (ie how quickly you metabolize coffee) there is a chance of an increased risk of heart disease.
